Yes! Nowadays, the term “coach” is used very broadly. Some people call themselves coaches even if they’ve never engaged in any formalized training or certification processes. I have invested in and completed formalized training through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching, an accredited coach training program by the International Coach Federation (ICF). As an ICF Credentialed coach, I have completed stringent education and experience requirements and have demonstrated a commitment to the highest coaching standards.
Coaching is a partnership between a coach and a client where the coach uses thought-provoking processes that help clients maximize personal and professional potential. Therapy is a relationship between a therapist and client where the therapist diagnoses and/or treats mental illnesses or disorders. Coaching is more future and solution-focused, where as therapy is generally past and problem-focused. Coaches also empower clients to come up with their own solutions and provide accountability when needed, whereas therapists typically diagnose and provide treatment.
All sessions are held via Zoom. Holding sessions via Zoom is a powerful way for us to connect with each other, and much of interpersonal communication is nonverbal, so this is a great way for us to have successful and energetic sessions together virtually. Show up makeup free, in your pajamas, or with coffee in your hand - there is no judgement here!
I work with ambitious modern women who know they are meant for more, have done some personal-development work in the past, but still feel stuck and unfulfilled in their lives and careers. They have a deeper inner knowing that there is more to life than the way they are currently living, but they are unsure of the steps to take to get to where they want to be or accomplish the goals they’ve set out for themselves.
